The Zebra DS4608-HC is a reliable barcode scanner for hospitals, nursing care facilities, laboratories or pharmacies. Thanks to its eye-friendly LED lighting it is also suited for the intensive care ward. The disinfectant-resistant housing and IP52 certification protect the scanner from dust deposits, dripping water and bacteria. Plus, the scanner is impact-resistant from 1.8 meters and its recessed scan window additionally protects it from dirt and scratches.

The DS4608-HC captures all common 1D and 2D barcode found in the healthcare sector. No matter what the backing is, whether they are printed or digital, have a high density or low contrast, even very small and curved barcodes on medication bottles, infusion bags and needles – the DS4608-HC always reliably and quickly captures them. This gives users more time for truly important things, namely, patient care.

The DS4608-HC also convinces with an 800 MHz microprocessor and a high-resolution megapixel sensor. Together with Zebra’s PRZM intelligent imaging technology even poorly readable or hard-to-reach barcodes are reliably captured. With the multi-code data formatting multiple barcodes are captured with a single scan and are transferred in the desired order. The interfaces include USB, RS-232 and RS-485. The host recognition feature automatically selects the correct interface when connected.

The DS4608-HC offers the appropriate feedback mode for every environment and situation: a decoder LED, programmable acoustic tone, lighting on the barcode and vibration. A programmable night mode ensures for a clear good scan confirmation while disturbing the patient as little as possible. Another practical feature is the quick change between handheld and presentation modes. Simply put the scanner in the presentation stand for presentation mode, a handy feature when working in the pharmacy. Handheld mode automatically activates once the user picks up the scanner.
