Lenovo Launches New PCs Featuring Personal AI Agent at Tech World ’24 Leave a comment

At its flagship Tech World ’24 event, Lenovo introduces new hybrid AI PCs, including the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 Gen 10 Aura Edition which combines the functionality of a laptop and tablet with advanced AI features. During a media pre-briefing, Daryl Cromer, Vice President and Chief Technology Officer of Lenovo’s Intelligent Devices Group, “Our goals are simple: to make AI technology accessible to everyone to enhance their daily lives.”

Powered with the latest Intel Core Ultra 200V processor and a dedicated NPU providing up to 48 TOPs of AI performance, this device will soon support all Microsoft Copilot+ AI features and additional functionalities like smart mode, smart share, and smart care.  In addition, the ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 Gen 10 Aura Edition provides up to 18 hours of battery life. Lenovo also introduced two more models: the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen 13 Aura Edition and the Yoga Slim 7i Aura Edition, powered by the latest Intel Core Ultra processors.

The laptops have a smart energy management feature called the Efficiency Optimizer, which automatically adjusts power usage for improved efficiency. Users can customize settings to balance performance and battery life according to their needs. This feature will also be extended to select existing Lenovo laptops. Another feature, Smart Connect, allows users to integrate all their devices into an integrated system, enabling them to access the AI capabilities of an AI PC even on a non-AI smartphone or tablet.

At the event, Lenovo introduced “AI Now,” an AI-powered chatbot, or personal AI agent, that operates using a large language model running locally on the Lenovo PC with enhanced data security. This agent can generate content and manage documents independently, without the need for cloud services.

Lenovo highlighted that its AI Now chatbot stands out from other AI chatbots by prioritizing data security, with all processing handled directly on the device. Additionally, Lenovo is enhancing the Moto AI experience to include features such as assist, create, and capture. This includes a new feature called Memory Finder, similar to Copilot Recall, which captures screenshots to help users locate important information on their phone, with all processing done locally on the device. These features are currently in beta testing and will soon be available on select devices, such as the Razr 50 Ultra.
